The combination of Trandolapril and Verapamil is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Trandolapril is in a group of drugs called ACE inhibitors (angiotensin converting enzyme) and Verapamil is in a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing the muscles of your heart and blood vessels. Tarka (Trandolapril/Verapamil) is usually prescribed for patients who have been taking one of the components without showing improvement.
You will need to provide your physician with a complete medical history to determine whether Tarka (Trandolapril/Verapamil) may be right for you. Information concerning past and present medical conditions, drug allergies and a complete list of all medications will be necessary to decide whether Tarka (Trandolapril/Verapamil) may be beneficial in the treatment of your hypertension. Tarka (Trandolapril/Verapamil) will not cure high blood pressure; it is meant to keep it under control.
