Protect Yourself Against Rising Drug Prices!
While the latest inflation rate for the US is a modest 1.0% through the twelve months ended June 2016, prescription medication costs are expected to rise 11-13% in 2016 according to a new report on national trends and projections in prescription drug expenditures. This report by a team of experts led by researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy reinforces the need for alternative prescription medication sources for Americans.
Consumers will find little or no comfort when examining some of the reasons behind the astronomical price hikes on prescription drugs as outlined in a recent Consumer Reports article entitled “Is There a Cure for High Drug Prices?” The lack of price restrictions, “reinventing” old medications and generic drug shortages have all contributed to widespread prescription drug price increases in the past few years. For example, it is estimated that the cost of the potentially life-saving Epipen has increased 450% since 2004! (Incidentally, you can buy Epipen for less than $80 at NorthWestPharmacy.com while it likely costs more than $300 at your local pharmacy!)
It is vital that your right to safe and affordable medication through personal importation is protected. The Campaign for Personal Prescription Importation (CPPI) is a national non-profit patient and consumer advocacy organization that seeks to accomplish just that. NorthWestPharmacy.com supports the efforts of CPPI to protect your access to affordable medications. Learn more and share your story here.
