What is Aubagio?

Aubagio (generic name Teriflunomide) is a once-a-day pill used to treat Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Adults can use it for treating different types of medical problems, including active secondary progressive disease, clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), and relapsing-remitting disease.

In MS, the immune system attacks healthy nerve cells, causing nerve damage. Nerve damage may lead to problems like pain, numbness, or tingling, as well as trouble when walking or talking. It may also cause changes in vision. Aubagio slows down the immune system and prevents it from attacking healthy nerve cells. It may also lessen inflammation (swelling) around the damaged nerve cells.

Conditions that are treated by Aubagio

Aubagio is used by adults over age 17 to treat MS, active secondary progressive disease, clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), and relapsing-remitting disease. Aubagio has not been studied to be safe or effective in children under 17, or adults over age 65.

What are Aubagio side effects?

FAQ's

  • How much does Aubagio cost?

Aubagio cost can vary depending on dose and strength of your prescription. Your dose can change based on how well your liver works, and why you are using Aubagio. You can lower the prescription Aubagio cost if you buy Aubagio online from a mail-order pharmacy such as NorthWestPharmacy.com.

  • How does Aubagio work?

Aubagio works by slowing down certain harmful white blood cells in your immune system. Those white blood cells are thought to harm healthy nerve cells. By slowing down the white blood cells, Aubagio prevents damage to healthy nerve cells.

  • How long do Aubagio side effects last?

Talk to your doctor if you have questions about Aubagio side effects. How long Aubagio side effects last can vary. Aubagio side effects may possibly linger in your body long after you stop taking the last dose. For example, if you have severe liver problems after taking Aubagio, it may take several years (or a liver transplant) before your liver fully heals. If you have a mild headache after taking Aubagio, it may stop quickly after you take your first dose. Aubagio can linger in your body for at least 2 years after your last dose, so it's possible that side effects can also last for a long time after taking Aubagio. If you have trouble with side effects, tell your doctor, because there are medicines that can help remove Aubagio quickly from your body.
