DRYSOL DAB-O-MATIC (ALUMINUM CHLORIDE)
Drysol Dab-O-Matic Description
Drysol Dab-O-Matic may be prescribed by your physician if you have a condition known as hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating. Excessive sweating or heavy sweating that has no underlying medical cause is called primary hyperhidrosis. This occurs when the nerves that are responsible for triggering your sweat glands become overactive and produce more perspiration than what is required. Primary hyperhidrosis may be at least partially hereditary.
Help for Hyperhidrosis
Usually you will start out by lightly daubing Drysol Dab-O-Matic before bed to the areas where you are experiencing excessive sweating, such as feet, armpits, or hands. The active ingredient called Aluminum Chloride is formulated in Anhydrous Ethyl Alcohol that will form a gel when applied as directed, which prevents the sweat from escaping through your pores without blocking the pores entirely.
Conditions Treated by Drysol Dab-O-Matic
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) can affect your entire body or just certain areas, such as your palms, soles, underarms or face. Excessive sweating can interfere with daily activities and cause social anxiety or embarrassment.
If the sweating occurs as a result of another medical condition, it is called secondary hyperhidrosis. The sweating may be all over the body or it may be in one area. Conditions that cause secondary hyperhidrosis include: diabetic hypoglycemia, endocarditis, fever of undetermined cause, generalized anxiety disorder, heart attack, heat exhaustion, overactive thyroid, leukemia, malaria, menopause, certain medications, obesity, and stress. This type of hyperhidrosis generally occurs over the whole body and is usually treated by addressing the underlying condition.
