What is Enstilar Aerosol Foam?

Enstilar Aerosol Foam (generic name Calcipotriene/Betamethasone dipropionate) is a plaque psoriasis medicine that is applied on top of your skin. It contains two medicines: calcipotriene, which is similar to Vitamin D, and betametasone dipropionate, which is a very strong steroid. Vitamin D is used to slow down how quickly your body makes new skin cells. Steroids may help with swelling, redness, and itching.

Conditions treated by Enstilar Aerosol Foam.

Enstilar Foam will help keep skin clear of plaque psoriasis. When you have plaque psoriasis, your immune system tells your body to grow too many skin cells too quickly. Normally, it takes nearly a month for skin cells to grow and rise to the skin surface. With psoriasis, the cells appear in just a few days. This means lots of young, immature skin cells are piling up on top of your skin. When they pile up, they form "plaques" filled with itchy, red, burning, scaly, and thick skin.
