Description of Phenergan Elixir

Phenergan Elixir is an oral antihistamine that your doctor may prescribe for treating the symptoms of seasonal or year-round allergies, obstetric sedation (pre-or post-operative), to prevent or control nausea/vomiting associated with anesthesia, to treat or prevent motion sickness, and for insomnia as this is a sedating antihistamine. You should not give Phenergan Elixir to any child under the age of 2 years. Some adults and younger children that have difficulties with swallowing pills or tablets can easily take Phenergan Elixir.

What is Histamine?

Your body uses histamine as part of the immune response to a threat or injury. Histamines will seek out receptors in specific areas of your body when the alarm has been sent that you are under threat of harm. Before Taking Phenergan Elixir

Ask your doctor if Phenergan Elixir is safe to take while you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or are breast feeding. Discuss other medical conditions you have and list any OTC or Rx drugs you currently take or use, including herbal remedies and dietary or vitamin supplements. Your doctor will determine if Phenergan Elixir will interfere with any of your meds or maybe adjust dosages to avoid adverse effects.

Phenergan Elixir should be not be given to any child under the age of 2 years. Use a proper dosing syringe when administering Phenergan Elixir to children. Do not drive or attempt any activity that involves your ability to remain alert and awake. Keep Phenergan Elixir out of children’s reach and never share this medicine or other drugs with anyone. Taking Phenergan Elixir may cause your skin to be more sensitive to direct sunlight so wear appropriate clothing when outdoors to prevent sunburn and avoid tanning beds.
