High Drug Prices Have Dire Consequences
Far too many Americans are not able to afford the prescription drugs they need. This fact was highlighted in a recent Baltimore Sun article. In the article, Dr. Nicky Mehtani tells the story of a Maryland grandmother who postponed filling a prescription for vital medications following hospitalization for a heart attack. The reason for the delay? High drug prices forced the elderly woman to delay obtaining critical medications, pending receipt of her Social Security check. The consequences were fatal; a second heart attack claimed the life of the woman.
While this story is dramatic, it is not unique. One in four Americans report having difficulty paying for prescription medications. Fortunately, many Americans find relief in the huge savings provided by reputable online pharmacies. That’s why many of our customers agree that it is vital that the right to safe and affordable medication through personal importation is protected.
The Campaign for Personal Prescription Importation (CPPI) is an organization that seeks to accomplish just that. The CPPI is devoted to advocating on behalf of the millions of Americans who cannot afford to fill their prescriptions in the U.S.
